IF THERE IS ONE thing we don’t miss, it’s beauty advice; from which products to use on your skin type, how long you should leave a hair mask on.
Some rules are there for good reasons, for example, expiration dates for makeup products.

But there are a handful of practices that we’ve stuck to simply because that’s what we’ve always done, even if they’re actually outdated.

Hair masks should be washed off after the allotted time
Of course, it’s important to follow the guidelines of any product you buy, especially hair dye.
But when it comes to hair masks and their sole purpose of moisturizing your hair, there’s nothing wrong with leaving it on longer than the allotted time.
Leaving a hair mask on longer will intensely nourish your roots, and if you leave it on overnight, you’ll wake up with soft, shiny locks.
Concealer is for eyes only
Concealer is essential for covering up dark spots and under-eye fatigue, but it’s so much more than that.
By changing the way you apply it, you can give yourself an eye lift; draw a straight line from the outer corner of your eye to your temple for a finished, brightened look.
You Can’t Wear a Glossy Lip With Dramatic Eyeshadow
A glossy lip paired with bold eyes is a classic Old Hollywood look that never goes out of style.
We’ve been told that having both may seem “too much”, but it’s not!
Makeup can be about expression and is done so you can experiment and you are your style.
Apply blush only to the apple of your cheeks
Gone are the days when a product was only used on part of your face.
Blush provides a vibrant dose of color that’s meant for everyone.
Blush, cream or powder, can be used on the bridge of the nose and lids for a luminous glow topped with highlighter
Start styling with freshly washed hair
Even though it seems fair to style freshly washed hair, it is best done on hair that is one or two days old.
That’s because it delivers effortless texture and will hold style better, meaning you won’t need as much hairspray or saline sprays.
Don’t wear too much bronzer
People may say you’re overdoing it with bronzer, but if you know how to apply it, you can’t!
You start by drawing the natural curves of your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose.
A good trick is to apply a powder of bronzer above your eyes as an eyeshadow base.
This complements the warmth of your cheeks and makes your skin tone even.
You cannot use powder if you have dry skin
If you have dry skin, you’ve probably avoided powder in case it makes your skin more dry or cakey.
However, that was before the addition of breakthrough beauty products.
Finely ground powders have the power to glide over dry areas without sticking directly to them and creating a hard texture.
Look at blurring and smoothing trends to find a technique that’s right for you.
